Jadi Imaging Holdings Berhad, the Malaysian toner manufacturing company, has released its Annual Report for 2023, indicating a decline in revenue and a loss before taxation compared to the previous year. Revenue declined by 23.9%, dropping from RM43.1 million ($9.5 million/ €8.7 million) in the previous year to RM32.8 million ($7.3 million/ €6.6 million) in 2023. The Group recorded a loss before taxation of RM11.1 million ($2.45 million/ €2.24 million), compared to a loss of RM7.9 ($1.75 million/ €1.59 million) in the preceding year.
The sharp fall in sales was attributed to lower demand from China, despite the market fully reopening after Covid lockdowns. The implementation of minimum wages in Malaysia and rising energy costs added to the company’s operating expenses, impacting profitability.
