Static Control streamlines operations

September 17, 2018

Static Control has announced plans to streamline its operations, with the layoff of around 240 employees.

The majority of those laid off worked in the company’s manufacturing operations.

“The imaging industry is constantly changing,” declared a company statement, which explained “it was necessary to adapt in order to stay competitive in the price-sensitive marketplace.”

“We know customers rely on our premium components, toner, chips and cartridges that were developed and manufactured with quality in mind, and this has not changed,” the company continued. “We have moved production to lower labour cost areas of the world to ensure we stay competitive. These state-of-the-art facilities use our exclusive designs and are manufactured to our exact specifications. As always, each product undergoes a full quality assurance and quality control process to ensure our stringent engineering standards are met. Our products are still made with the utmost care taken to quality and performance.”

Static Control explained that the change will allow the company to “remain competitive” in the marketplace, as well as keeping prices stable and allowing for news solutions to be released faster.

“This will especially benefit our remanufacturing customers who rely on our growing component offering, which is still the heart of our business,” the company explained. “Our state-of-the-art research and development facility will remain operational, as well as speciality manufacturing for key product areas. We will continue to offer a full range of components and cartridges and be the single shop solution for our customers around the globe.”

The company concluded: “Our mission of being the best imaging aftermarket supplier has not changed. Customers can expect the same level of customer service, combined with our premium offering of imaging solutions. Be it cartridges or components, we will continue to have you covered.”
