Technological Innovation
Ninestar attaches great importance to technological innovation and patent creation. Ninestar started from the scratch through producing compatible printer consumables, and then developed its own patented printing consumable chips. Over the past decade, it has maintained its leading position in the global compatible printing consumables industry, with a No.1 market share. In 2010, it launched the first laser printer of China, ” PANTUM “-branded printer, a laser printer with independent intellectual property, which filled the core and critical technology gap on China laser printer. In 2016, the company acquired “Lexmark International”, a printer business formerly established by IBM. With this acquisition, Ninestar has covered almost the entire printing industry chain, starting from upstream core components and consumables to downstream printer hardware, from entry-level printers to high-level printers, and from traditional printer product sales to managed print service (MPS) solutions.
Business Segments
Ninestar Group has three major business segments: Laser Printers, Integrated Circuit Chips, and Compatible Consumables and Core Components.
In the Laser Printer Segment, Ninestar owns “Lexmark + PANTUM” dual brands. Recognized by its technological strength in high-level printers and leading capability to provide customized print solutions to large enterprises, Lexmark has been one of the leading high-end printers and print solutions providers in the world. It serves customers from various industries across banking, supply chain, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, etc.all over the world. Today, “PANTUM” is known as the only Chinese laser printer manufacturer that proceeds independent core printing technology. “Lexmark” and “PANTUM” are complementary and can cover the needs of customers from entry-level products to high-level products, and have built core capabilities for customized service solutions.
In the Integrated Circuit Chip segment, Ninestar, with its industry experience for over 20 years, has been at leading position in China in integrated circuit chip design and R&D, encryption, and multi-core heterogeneous SoC chip design. Ninestar is capable of providing a complete set of solution services from upstream design to downstream manufacturing to its customers, a solution that could enhance the competitiveness of customers by differentiating their products. In 2019, Geehy Semiconductor was founded and began to make great inroads into IoT chips (general MCU chips, SoC-eSE embedded security chips, etc.), dedicated to promoting the development of domestic chip industrialisation.
The compatible Consumables and Core Components segment, is the company’s traditional business. Growing for more than two decades, Ninestar has become a leading company in this industry segment and hold the first place in this industry, as the Chairman enterprise of The Printing Consumables Industry Association of China. Ninestar offers all kinds of consumable product, including laser cartridges, inkjet cartridges, ribbon cartridges and ink, consumable integrated circuit chips, and rollers and other core consumable parts. The Emperor Penguin
The idea of taking the emperor penG&G’sas G&G’s mascot came from a visit to the Antarctic in 2003. We saw first hand and heard from the environmentalists that climate change was a challenge to the survival of these lovely creatures. The way they struggle to survive with staunch willpower is more or less similar to what G&G has experienced in the imaging industry throughout these years. More importantly, the mascot of the emperor penguin always reminds us of the very nature of our products to be environmentally friendly.
