Based on a proclamation request filed jointly by Clover Imaging Group and the International Imaging Technology Council (Int’l ITC), Governor JB Pritzker has issued a proclamation declaring 13 April 2023 as Reman Day in the state of Illinois.
Reman Day is an annual national event executed at the local level supported by remanufacturers as they host students, teachers, parents, job seekers and other local community members at open houses, plant tours and presentations designed to showcase the economic and environmental benefits of remanufacturing.
To mark the event, several cities and states have issued a proclamation honouring 13 April 2023 as Reman Day. In the past six years since Reman Day was conceived, Illinois only joined in celebrating the event the first year, until now.
The proclamation stated in part, “Whereas, a 2012 U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) report found that remanufacturers support at least 180,000 full-time jobs in the U.S. Further, the ITC report states that production of remanufactured goods in the U.S. increased by 15 percent from 2009 to 2011 and exports totalled $11.2 billion (€10.28 billion) annually; and…
“Whereas Illinois is home to Clover Imaging, the world’s largest remanufacturer of printer cartridges, headquartered in Ottawa Illinois and employing thousands of employees worldwide.”
“There are countless advantages to remanufacturing goods, including localised job creation and waste diversion,” said Int’l ITC Executive Director Tricia Judge. “The goal of Reman Day is to advocate for remanufactured goods, educate people on the advantages of reman, and collaborate with our communities in order to identify future remanufacturing leaders. We are delighted that Int’l ITC member Clover’s home state of Illinois is joining in acknowledging this great community.”
