Epson’s new WorkForce Pro printers

January 8, 2018

The OEM is launching its latest range of WorkForce Pro devices, which combine enhanced energy savings with fast print speeds.

Epson has announced that it is launching its latest series of WorkForce Pro devices, led by the WF-C5790DWF, which are “ideal for small workgroups.” The energy used when printing is up to 90 percent less than comparable laser models. These new printers also provide fast print speeds, delivering the Fastest First Page Out Time (FPOT), for both colour and mono prints against comparable lasers, of just seven seconds from sleep mode. In addition, the new models have “the fastest colour scan speed in the segment at 24ipm.”

Designed both to cut costs and reduce energy usage while simultaneously boosting productivity, the four models in the series can help businesses save at least 50 percent on their colour CPP (cost per page) versus comparable laser models, according to Epson. Their new ink supply system is “easier to change” and allows for bigger page yields, of up to 10,000 pages in monochrome or 5,000 in colour, without changing supplies on PDL models.

Reggie Dubb, product manager, Epson Europe, says: “This small workgroup series of printers and MFDs is perfect for the business environment, from small offices to large corporates who may have traditionally used lasers and want to cut costs, increase productivity and reduce downtime. This is all while also reducing their environmental impact and improving their CSR reputation.”

The new models also “benefit from hassle-free, low maintenance printing that inkjet technology delivers.” This technology, according to the OEM< “not only boosts productivity, but its non-heat and non-contact printing process also allows for added media flexibility. And when it comes to media, this series has the largest standard paper capacity of 330 sheets in this market segment.”

Designed specifically for business use, the new WorkForce Pro printers offer software and tools that “meet the needs of different users.” Tools and software such as Email Print for Enterprise, Epson Print Admin, Document Capture Pro and Epson Device Admin, add additional functionality to the device. They also include Epson Open Platform and extra solutions such as PaperCut print management software.

Additionally, NFC supports printing from mobile devices, giving users the flexibility to print away from their desk. The WF-C5000 series is available through an Epson Print365 managed print service package, which are fully inclusive of fast-response service and support.
