German printers latest to be hacked
German universities’ printers were hacked to print anti-Semitic leaflets last week, after US universities were last month, with universities affected including Hamburg, Bonn, Münster, Lüneburg, Bremen, Tübingen and Erlangen-Nurnberg.
Over one million solid ink machines in use
Xerox reported on the successes of its solid ink ColorQube machines, including the statistic that “more than one million sold ink machines are in use” since the technology was brought to market in 1991.
Biuromax announces new toner
The new toner powder is for use in remanufactured cartridges in Xerox and Lexmark printers, and will be complemented by drums, chips for drums and toner cartridges, doctor blades and charge rollers.
Ink innovation for the blind
Using a normal printer, the new technology – Touchable Ink – will “enable braille printing on normal paper” and will be cheaper than using a braille printer”, according to the organisations that have developed it.
