Xerox releases new MPS tools

The OEM launched the new tools to help partners “capitalise on the market opportunity” in MPS.

Xerox reported on the launch of the four new tools for its Xerox Partner Print Services (XPPS), noting that it has helped channel partners “capture [a] nearly $16 billion (€14.6 billion) SMB market opportunity” through “easy-to-deploy” MPS programmes. Around three-quarters of SMBs are said to not have MPS, and Xerox says this is a “substantial opportunity” for partners to take advantage of.

The OEM added that MPS can help “reduce costs by up to 30 percent annually and improve predictability, while generating new, recurring revenue for their business”. It aims to help partners achieve this through the four new tools, whether they are “selling MPS for the first time or building on an established programme”.

The first tool, Enhanced Managed Supplies Service, offers a “proactive, automatic supplies replenishment” for printers and MFPs that “are not under a cost-per page price plan”, with Xerox claiming that leading partners “average 25 percent margin” through managing supplies. The second tool meanwhile, NewField IT e-Commerce Storefront, makes it “easy for partners to order and renew assessment tools and services” for IT infrastructure analysis.

Xerox’ third new tool, MPS Application Programming Interface (API), is a software development kit which “integrates with a partner’s front or back office system” to lower costs and improve results. Finally, the Xerox Digital Alternatives desktop and mobile assistant “automates paper-based workflows” and allows users to edit and access documents on “one interface”.

John Corley, President of Channel Partner Operations at Xerox, commented: “With these MPS tools, channel partners can grow share of wallet with existing customers while locking out competitors, and in the process we impact our bottom line by selling more technology and services, and locking in post-sale revenue. The new tools move beyond helping a client print for less. They automate business processes, boost employee productivity and drive security and mobility.”
