RTC and CTS close deal for IBM branded toner cartridges

RTC and CTS close deal for IBM branded toner cartridges

April 16, 2021

Real Time Communication BV (RTC) announced that it has partnered with CTS for distribution of IBM branded toner cartridges in the UK and Ireland.

IBM branded toner cartridges are manufactured by the Turbon Group under a trademark and brand licensing agreement with IBM. Turbon is partnered with RTC to grow the IBM brand in Europe.

Mark Dawson, Director at RTC, spoke about the deal: “The IBM brand resonates with channel resellers and corporate end-users alike. It is synonymous with Quality, Reliability, Trustworthiness, Technology and Service. This toner cartridge programme provides enterprises with an important cost reduction opportunity and the timing could not be better. The pandemic has been tough for many businesses and the focus on cost reduction has never been sharper.”

Speaking about the partnership he said: “Steve Clayton and his team at CTS have built an organisation that is exclusively dedicated to supporting the reseller channel. The business has developed a well-earned reputation for service and has a deep understanding of office automation and EDI integration. They know how to deliver important process efficiencies for their channel customers. All of this makes them the ideal partner for the IBM programme.”

Clayton himself commented: “Interbrand recently ranked IBM at the 14th most valuable on the planet. It resonates particularly well with IT professionals who have an increasing influence on the choice of consumables as managed services converge to encompass print. Resellers are hungry for extra differentiation. The IBM brand delivers that. We are 100% trade only. Supporting the channel is our mission. The IBM range of toner cartridges for use in HP devices will help our reseller customers win share in the switch from OEM market space and enhances our professional suite of cartridges for dealers to offer choices to their customers, and so we are delighted to be on board with RTC.”

Simon McCouaig, President of The Turbon Group commented: “We are very pleased to be supporting both RTC and CTS with the IBM branded toner cartridge range. CTS are a highly regarded UK wholesaler with over 25 years of industry experience. The market opportunity to position IBM branded cartridges as a credible aftermarket alternative to the expensive OEM product is significant still today and I believe we have the partners in place with CTS and RTC to realise this opportunity”.
