Ricoh’s release of the SP 4310N is “engineered for busy offices and workgroups”, according to the OEM, and contains a series of features and additions that it claims are “user-friendly enhancements”.
The device is aimed to replace the SP 4210N in the OEM’s laser printer product line, and contains such new additions as Adobe PostScript, an LCD panel with integrated 12-key alphanumeric keypad, and an optional 80 GB Hard Disk Drive (HDD).
The printer has print speeds of 37 ppm, with resolutions of up to 1200 x 600 dpi, and has the capacity for 1,600 sheets, with use of the OEM’s 15,000 page yield toner cartridges. It is also Energy Star compliant, and features a toner saving mode as well as auto duplexing.
Ricoh adds that the device is intended to fit in with its Managed Document Services (MDS) programme, allowing for energy and cost savings through document control. The printer also has embedded software architecture functions to improve document security, whilst the optional hard drive offers encryption for stored files.
The Aficio SP 4310N is retailing for $799.00 in the US market.
