Ricoh recognised for leadership on climate action

The company has revealed that it has been recognised as a global leader in the corporate world’s response to climate change and is included on the Climate A List 2017.
Japanese-headquartered company, Ricoh, has been named as a global leader in the corporate world’s response to climate change and has also been included on the Climate A List 2017 by CDP, a non-profit global environmental disclosure program.
To create its Climate A List, which features companies that have demonstrated “excellent results” in responding to climate change. To compile this CDP conducts a survey of over 5000 companies across the globe; this year the list featured 112 companies, 13 of which were Japanese.
Ricoh is part of the 5 per cent of companies that are participating in CDP’s climate change program to be included on the list.
The company “aims to create new markets and value propositions by looking more broadly at social issues, and taking on the challenge to resolve them”. The company’s goal is to achieve zero greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2050. In order to do this they made the Ricoh Group Environmental Declaration, and the company is working toward “creating a zero carbon society across its entire value chain by improving the energy efficiency” of its products as well as by encouraging business partners and customers to collaborate to reach this common goal.
