OEM announces launch of SP 8300DN monochrome laser printer for print-for-pay businesses and their customers.

Ricoh states that the printer is reliable and cost-conscious, with features that enable it to establish, control and monitor print-for-pay operations including charges, secure access and job configuration. It is also network-ready, making it ideal for use in large institutions such as college/university campuses and libraries.

Achieving print speeds of 50 pages per minute, the SP 8300DN printer is able to handle large volumes of documents up to 11 inches by 17 inches in size. In addition, the device boasts expandable security features including locked print, hold print, store print and unauthorised copy control. It also features a 4.3 inch colour LCD touch screen control panel and a built in MFP web browser, enabling users to navigate and print from the internet and access cloud services such as applications for document capture, management, storage, processing, printing and sharing.

The printer is compatible with Ricoh’s device management and supporting software, @Remote, which can monitor fleets of networked printers and MFPs in real time, improving on the convenience, optimisation and productivity of printing for users, particularly print-for-pay establishments. Ricoh states that small data centres, healthcare facilities, financial institutions and government agencies could also benefit from using the device.

The SP 8300DN is available now for a suggested retail price of $3,060 (€2,300).
