printvision AG receives EMAS certification

First EMAS certification in the printing and document management industry goes to Bavaria.
Since its founding 20 years ago, printvision AG has pursued its green vision to conserve resources and actively protect the environment. It has now become the first company in its industry to be awarded the EMAS certificate.
The Eco-Management and Audit Scheme, or EMAS for short, is an environmental management system developed by the European Union that goes far beyond the requirements of ISO 14001 certification and requires companies to continuously improve their environmental performance.
The EMAS environmental management system is considered one of the most demanding of its kind in the world. It aims to help companies to continuously improve their environmental performance while ensuring a high level of transparency towards the public. It differs from ISO 14001 certification in that it requires external auditing and the regular publication of a detailed environmental report. This creates a high level of transparency for the public and enables them to understand the concrete contributions companies are making to environmental protection. At the same time, companies thereby strengthen the trust of customers and partners.
printvision AG explained that preparations for EMAS certification began over a year ago. “We analysed and optimised all company processes for their environmental compatibility,” reported CEO Martin Steyer. With the support of external environmental consultants, a comprehensive concept was developed to make internal processes even more sustainable. In an intensive testing process by independent experts, the measures were finally analysed for their EMAS conformity. The reduction in resource consumption, the minimisation of CO? emissions and the exemplary recycling management were particularly praised.
Sustainability has always been an integral part of printvision AG’s corporate philosophy. “We are always looking for new ways and opportunities to improve our environmental footprint,” explained Martin Steyer. From energy-efficient office buildings to the e-fleet and resource-saving recycling of printing systems, the AG always makes sure to integrate climate-friendly solutions into its daily work. With the EMAS certification, printvision is now setting another example of its commitment to environmental protection and is standing out as a pioneer in the industry.
Earlier this year, printvision AG and Epson brought to live the “green contract” for its MPS contracts.
