Print-Rite granted U.S. patent

Remanufacturer awarded patent for NoTwist drum gear printer cartridge.

Print-Rite has announced that it has been issued a patent for its NoTwist drum gear printer cartridge by the U.S. Trademark Office. The patent, number 8,275,291, was granted to the company on 25 September.

Print-Rite highlighted that the NoTwist printer cartridge does not have the “twisted projection” feature required by the Canon patents in the pending ITC case, which has seen Canon taking action against a number of aftermarket companies.

The remanufacturer added that “Print-Rite has long recognised the importance of intellectual property rights worldwide and it is pleased that the U.S. Patent Office has recognised the invention in Print-Rite’s new product”.
