February 20, 2013 The releases for Source Technologies and Lexmark are chips and MICR toner, made for the former’s ST9612 and 9620 and the latter’s E260, E360 and E460 cartridges. The cartridges are used to print cheques, with the MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) toner used to make cheques “readable by financial institutions […] when used with appropriate supporting equipment and software”, according to Static Control. The company added: “MICR toner is a crucial part of the encoding, reading and sorting of cheques and other documents. Each cheque that is deposited is read and sorted multiple times by high-speed machines, so the dependability of the toner is critical to the efficiency of the process. Static Control offers the SecureRITE MICR toner guarantee. Customers can contact a Static Control sales representative for complete details.” Static also noted that the toner and chip can be used in “dump and fill” applications and remanufacturing, and for remanufacturing it recommends “replacing the doctor bar and doctor bar leaf spring” with its own components to “avoid signal strength errors” as well as ensuring coverage by its guarantee. The company also released a system of imaging components for use in the remanufacturing of toner cartridges in HP’s LaserJet Pro 400 M401 and M425 MFP machines. The range of components included in the system are toner, OPC drums, wiper blades, universal chips, recovery blades, seals, tools and other products, “engineered and manufactured to work together as a system to provide optimum performance and consistency”, according to Static Control.
