More international visitors for Paperworld 2016
February 9, 2016
The event, which included Remanexpo 2016, saw over 1,600 exhibitors and over 36,000 visitors from over 139 countries.
The fair, which took place from 30 January to 2 February in Frankfurt, Germany, and which included Remanexpo@Paperworld 2016, saw a total of 1,608 exhibitors and 36,773 visitors, with exhibitors said to be “pleased with new contacts, order patterns and [the] internationality” of the visitors to their booths”. Exhibitor and visitor surveys showed that “real innovations and novelties”, alongside “positive order patterns”, created a “positive mood” among exhibitors at the event.
Exhibitors were said to be “very satisfied” across the event, while a “positive mood on the market”, alongside the “even higher proportion of international trade visitors” of 69 percent, added to the positive responses. Event organisers Messe Frankfurt pointed out that many surveyed “evaluated the event even better than 2015” in terms of “quality of visitors, number of new contacts, orders paced during the fair” and visitor target groups.
In terms of an exhibitor breakdown, there were 59 countries represented, with 261 from Germany and 1,347 from abroad, while the “number of overseas visitors has evolved positively” as well. The biggest visitor countries were Italy, Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, Poland, Turkey, Spain, the USA and Greece; while many new visitors came from turkey, Ukraine, Colombia, Argentina and Iran. In turn, 73 percent of visitors were said to be executives, and this high quality was said to be “a key reason for the high level of exhibitor satisfaction” when surveyed.
Visitors meanwhile said that they were “increasingly placing their orders again in Europe”, naming “quality, timing, storage” and security in terms of transport costs as the main factors for doing business at the show. In turn, figures for new contacts increased four percent, and orders placed at the fair increased by two percent. 90 percent of exhibitors, Messe Frankfurt commented, “intend” to participate in Paperworld 2017, which will take place from 28 to 31 January 2017.
Ken Lalley, Managing Director of European Operations for Static Control, the largest manufacturer of aftermarket imaging systems and components, also gave his view on the show to Messe Frankfurt, commenting that “Paperworld has provided us with the perfect platform for networking and discussions with decision makers in the industry”.
Detlef Braun, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt, commented: “We have been able to bring, in addition to more exhibitors, more new international buyers to Frankfurt, so as to increase the sales opportunities for our exhibitors. Buoyed by positive economic indicators, the very high visitor rate has grown [alongside] strong order patterns. In recent days, the who’s who of the consumer goods industry met in Frankfurt, and this impressively underscores the leading global position of the three shows in their industries.”
