The OEM has launched its Lexmark VALORR Printer Service Training Program for US veterans and soon-to-be-separated active duty personnel.
The VALORR program “helps veterans learn specialised skills and earn certification to pursue a new career.” VALORR stands for Veterans Association of Lexmark Organised to Recognise and Respect and is one of Lexmark’s diversity network groups. As well as active and retired members of the military, it also includes friends and family members, as well as “interested employees dedicated to developing and executing outreach programs in support of veterans, active duty personnel and their family.”
Through the Printer Service Training Program, interested veterans and soon-to-be-separated active duty personnel can enrol and gain access to free self-paced online Lexmark printer service training modules, with no prior experience or college education required. The online nature of the course means veterans can enrol no matter where they are based.
By completing the modules, any who enrol will acquire the opportunity to “achieve certification to service Lexmark products” which “enhances” their ability to apply to be a Lexmark-certified field service technician providing support to Lexmark users throughout the United States.
