California-based printing supplies retailer LD Products has announced that it saw an increase in sales last year, with the company expecting to see further growth in the years to come following investment in key areas, including infrastructure and business systems, product diversity, new marketplaces and personnel.
Aaron Leon, CEO of LD Products, commented: “We have never invested in our company like we did this year,” with the company’s biggest investment in 2012 being its move to larger premises. LD Products’ new 110,000 square foot facility in Long Beach, California boasts a new automated warehouse system to allow thousands more packages to be shipped quickly and efficiently whilst at the same time cutting the cost of sorting, packing and shipping packages.
Furthermore, upgrades were made to the company’s accounting and enterprise resource planning systems, with a more modern system being installed to manage its customer service call centre using a central computer program to integrate and run all communications. The customer service centre opening hours were also increased, providing customers with support seven days a week between 5am and 7pm.
In terms of increasing the company’s marketplace, employees of LD Products’ ecommerce team added new online marketplaces to the list of existing marketplaces, enabling the company to advertise to new groups of consumers and creating new opportunities for growth.
Expanding the company’s product line to include Pantum printers and non-cartridge office supplies in addition to its range of print consumables was another investment made by LD Products last year, with Frank Farina, Vice President of Business Development at LD Products commenting: “As with anything that we offer, we’re looking to provide a great value on quality product to our customers and we’re excited to be able to do that on a new front.”
