MPS specialist will host a charity BBQ where participants may smash printers to raise money for Dance Marathon.
Urbandale Patch has reported on a forthcoming event hosted by Iowa-based MPS specialist Laser Resources in which attendees can help raise money for charity by smashing printers.
Participants can donate $5 for the opportunity to smash the printer five times, with proceeds going to Dance Revolution, which provides financial and emotional support to children with life-threatening illnesses through the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital.
Laser Resource’s Thomas Lashier commented: “We wanted the opportunity to get closer with the community and give back to our customers in Central Iowa. That’s something we really wanted to take seriously this year […] That’s a very important part of our community. We are honoured and proud to be involved.”
The printer-smashing motif was decided upon during discussions on a “fun” activity to raise money, Lashier continued: “I smashed one up to see how things would fly off it. It is fun.”
Printer smashing has been a prominent theme, with Expert Laser Services’ Nathan Dube having recently concluded his fourth Destroy Your Printer contest, which was won by Marcus Piazzo of Wales Wax Works as the sole entry in the competition.
