The OEM announced that its site in Germany, a research and development centre, has been certified by Germany’s Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) as a “chemical emission test site” for the German eco-label Blue Angel.
As a result of receiving the accreditation, Kyocera can now “carry out in-house testing for the determination” of emissions from the production of its printers at the site, in order for the machines to then receive the Blue Angel certification before sale. Previously, the OEM “outsourced” the tests, and so now it can “drastically shorten the certification process” for its printer products.
Kyocera stated: “Currently, all of the company’s products satisfy the strict standards of the Blue Angel, and are recognised as having distinguished environmental strengths, including not only the ability to reduce the users’ environmental footprint but also in the products’ ability to protect workplaces from dust, noise, VOC, ozone, and UFP emissions. Kyocera Document Solutions strives to continue to enhance the quality and safety of its products in order to provide reliable products to its customers.”
