Kyocera claims ‘most durable’ photoreceptor drum

Kyocera claims ‘most durable’ photoreceptor drum

September 21, 2011

The amorphous silicon (a-Si) photoreceptor drum, which is a core component in electrophotographic printing equipment like laser printers and MFPs, represents “an industry first” in being able to print one million A4 sheets.

For comparison, Kyocera’s convention A4 a-Si drum had a lifespan of 300,000 A4 sheets, which was already regarded by the OEM as “the industry’s most durable”.

Kyocera added that the drum has lower power consumption, through optimization of the drum’s thin-film composition making up its protective layer.

The photoreceptor drum is now available for shipment worldwide.
