Industry Analysts reports that Konica Minolta Holdings, Inc. has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index “in recognition of its economic, environmental and social performance”.
The annual Dow Jones Sustainability indexes, which were launched in 1999 by Dow Jones and SAM Group, track the financial performance of the top 2,500 companies worldwide based on the sustainability of their economic, environmental and social developments; with 340 companies being listed in the World index this year. While it is the first time that Konica Minolta has been included in the World index, it has featured in the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index for four consecutive years.
Contributing to the company’s inclusion in the index, Konica Minolta has reportedly been working on three Green Activities to improve its environmental practices: the Green Products Certification System, the Green Factory Certification System and the Green Marketing activities.
It also claims that corporate social responsibility (CSR) is “at the centre of corporate management” at the company, promoting social sustainability activities under the message “Giving Shape to Ideas” to “take on challenges its customers and society face […] offering effective solutions to difficult situations from a global-minded point of view”.
Kevin Kern, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions USA, Inc. commented: “Konica Minolta remains committed to being a responsible partner in all sectors of our business and on a global scale. Our inclusion on the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index reflects our progress in this crucial area of corporate management.”
Kern added that the company “will continue efforts to help the global environment and contribute to sustainable development so that customers can count on Konica Minolta for all their document management needs, as well as support for environmental initiatives worldwide.”
