Konica Minolta announced key appointments in the UK

March 2, 2021

The company said that this marks a major milestone as the company transforms its end-to-end UK group operations, to support its customers, partners and employees, as they look to build upon the new opportunities presented by the post-pandemic digital workplace.

Last year, Konica Minolta was recognised by IDC MarketScape as a worldwide leader in print transformation. The company has now transformed its UK group operating model, in a move that is designed to strengthen its ability to serve its customers and partners in a faster and more connected way. It will allow the company to meet its sustainable long-term growth ambitions, enabling its customers and partners to embrace the intelligent connected workplaces of the future.

From 1 April 2021, Mark Ash will assume the role of Chief Revenue Officer for the UK Group, covering all aspects of Sales, Marketing & Service. Konica Minolta said that he will build on the advances made since joining the company in 2020, breaking down product and solution silos, driving multichannel engagement into growth areas and overseeing the company’s transformation beyond print. This transformation will be built on Konica Minolta’s comprehensive portfolio of digital workplace products, services and solutions, which includes IT managed services, data analytics and process automation capabilities. At the core of Ash’s new role is to drive the company’s customer and partner centric philosophy. He commented: “Every sale comes with a commitment to go above and beyond, to deliver value and a level of service that supports their business goals and exceeds expectations.”

Ash added: “We responded to the impact of the pandemic by accelerating projects to deliver digital transformation. Today, I am excited by the talent, infrastructure and innovative technologies we have, which will enable all public and private sector organisations in the UK to realise significant efficiencies and successful adoption of new ways of working.”

Konica Minolta added that it places huge importance on its inclusive and agile company culture as well as supporting the professional and individual needs of its employees across the group. In January 2021, Konica Minolta was certified by the Top Employers Institute, for a fourth consecutive year. Leading this “high-calibre” people agenda continues to be the responsibility of Sarah Stone, who takes up the new group role of Chief People Officer.

Joining Ash and Stone in the senior leadership team is the new Chief Finance and Operations Officer, Andy Clegg, with a remit to accelerate data and process automation. In doing so, Konica Minolta said that he will optimise the entire customer and partner experience. Andy has been a key contributor to the UK group and his promotion demonstrates the commitment Konica Minolta has to develop and promote internal talent, the company added.

The UK group is also in the process of recruiting a Chief Technology Officer, who will underpin Konica Minolta’s leading position in digital workplace technology, in areas such as data, analytics and cloud. The role will work closely with the European and Global KM operations to ensure the best in class technologies and services are brought to UK customers and partners with speed.

The senior leadership team is headed by CEO, Rob Ferris, who has led the transformation of the company since joining in May 2020. He commented: “We have successfully pivoted our end-to-end UK group operating model. In doing so we are instilling a true customer and partner centric approach in everything we do. Breaking down the silos that can exist in large corporate operations and accelerating our ability to provide world class workplace technologies and services on a local level. Today, Konica Minolta is perfectly poised to better serve its customers and partners whilst also taking advantage of the post pandemic opportunity for rapid, sustained and diversified growth.”
