Innovative MFPs identified

An article looks at some of the MFPs “offering something for every need”.

The HP Inc series of 15 PageWide, OfficeJet Pro and LaserJet printers are MFPs designed for “teams of five to 15 people printing up to 7,500 pages per month”, while the PageWide Enterprise can print 70ppm and features Ethernet and wireless options, and also included in this group is the PageWide Enterprise Flow MFP.

Lexmark have introduced the C5510 colour laser series, a printer that uses PANTONE colour matching, smart print and fast speeds with 1,200 x 1,200dpi resolution using Lexmark’s Unison toner for quality of prints. Printing at 32ppm in monochrome and producing a colour page document in 10 seconds, the printer uses a high speed dual core processor and has 512 MB of upgradeable memory and Gigabit Ethernet. This model prints up to 7,000 pages per month and has a colour touchscreen, USB port and a large paper input capacity.

Sharp have designed the compact MX-C300W with built-in wireless LAN connectivity offering wireless access to two modes, infrastructure and point mode, which enable the MFP to install easily and discover what type of LAN is available. Infrastructure mode connects the MFP to mobile devices through a wireless LAN router.

The laser MFPs from Canon’s imageCLASS series include the MF240, 230, 249dw, 247dw, 244dw, 236n and the 232w, all compact models and “several have wireless direct connection”, allowing up to five devices to be connected at once. The 249dw and 247dw feature a send function so that users can scan and send to email or network folders, and the 249dw, 247dw and 236n have a widescreen touch LCD screen that can be tilted. All models have improved security protocols.

Epson’s WorkForce Pro WF-4640 is a heavy-duty high volume MFP with extra paper capacity and powered by Epson’s PrecisionCore print technology. It features wireless connectivity and delivers quality colour prints and clear black or coloured text and prints from tablets and smartphones. It also features a print cycle of 30,000 pages per month and has a capacity for 580 sheets of paper, with a rear tray for 8- envelopes and duplex print, scan, copy or fax, as well as a 4.3-inch colour touchscreen.
