October 4, 2011 The four year-old company opened 10 new franchises in Victoria last year, and the success of these stores has now led to the planned expansion into two other provinces. Inkspot’s franchises sell new and original ink and toner cartridges, as well as providing refills and collecting empties for reuse and remanufacturing, which have now added 45 percent of gross national sales to the company. The company’s Director and Strategy Manager, Vincent Teubler, told Franchising online that the company experienced little direct competition from Cartridge World in Australia. “On the surface, Cartridge World is our biggest competitor, but they are strip located, and we took the approach that cartridges are a consumer product now, this is a convenience purchase,” Teubler stated. “Our average shopper is a mother with kids who doesn’t want to make a separate journey.” Inkspot’s shops and kiosks are based in shopping centres and near to supermarkets, but a lot of its sales come from local businesses, schools, hospitals and government facilities, and the company will continue to expand. “We are rapidly expanding and need more people who have commitment and energy, basic business acumen and excellent customer service skills,” continued Teubler. “ We have a very clear mandate to ensure the success of our franchisees, no matter how little or how much business experience they bring to the Inkspot family.” Categories :
