October 3, 2016

A Canadian company has created a machine that refills ink and toner cartridges.

Doodle Ink Refill is owned by a Canadian ink and toner supply company, and can be “operated by virtually anyone”, reported The Hamilton Spectatordoodle-ink. The company states that the machine is “focused on sustainable solutions” and that its products are “environmentally friendly and sustainable”.

By using the kiosk for refills, consumers are helping to reduce waste going to the landfill in the form of cartridges. According to the company the kiosk can “refill ink cartridges for all major brands; HP, Canon, Lexmark, Brother, Epson and more” and the easy-to-use touchscreen and a step-by-step autocue makes refilling user friendly and quick: refilling can be done in two to five minutes.

Some of the main features include capability of “refilling more than 300 cartridge models, offers refills for all major brands, uses a vacuum refill process, internet-enabled and computer controlled refill system”. According to the press release “the cost is extremely competitive, especially when compared to purchasing new cartridges”.
