The existing partnership between the two companies, running since 2003, is now a long-term rather than annual contract.
HP’s Speciality Printing Systems business (HP SPS) will now work with Francotyp-Postalia on an ongoing basis to provide thermal inkjet cartridges for the latter’s franking machines.
Using the thermal inkjet, the franking machines are able to print postal franks, text , numbers, QR codes and logos onto post for users, with HP-developed special inks made to meet postal requirements in red and blue. Francotyp-Postalia will now use a new franking system incorporating the technology.
Hans Szymanski, CEO of Francotyp-Postalia, stated: “This agreement takes our partnership with HP to a new level. It assures our long-term supply of high quality HP cartridges and will help us to continue to develop our products and services.”
Kathy Tobin, Vice President and General Manager of HP SPS, added: “The relationship with FP Group has been based on growing trust and cooperation. It is gratifying to see a company expand and become a global leader using HP thermal inkjet technology in its systems.”
