FUJIFILM Business Innovation launches A3 colour remanufactured MFPs

November 20, 2024

FUJIFILM Business Innovation Asia Pacific announces the launch of two A3 colour remanufactured digital multifunction printers, the ApeosPort-VII C5573 R and C3373 R.

These printers, part of ApeosPort-VII C series, offer the guaranteed quality as brand-new products, and reduce environment impact with their parts reuse rate of up to 84% by weight.

Sales will commence from 21 November in the Asia Pacific region.

ApeosPort-VII C5573 R and C3373 R are manufactured from collected machines. Upon collection from customers, a systematic assessment is undertaken to classify them as either “reuse” or “recycling” based on their condition. Collected machines suitable for reuse will then be transported to the production facility. Once there, they will be disassembled to a component level. Careful inspection and diagnosis are conducted to identify the parts that were suitable for reuse. Parts that cannot be reused are sorted according to the material they are made of, and then passed to the company’s recycling partners. Reusable parts will be cleaned and repaired before being sent for reassembly.

FUJIFILM Business Innovation Asia Pacific added that each remanufactured printer undergoes the same rigorous inspection process as newly built printers, to ensure they meet the same quality and reliability standards.

The remanufactured printers have a significantly reduced environmental impact, achieving an 84% parts reuse rate by weight, and cutting lifecycle emissions by 53% compared to newly built printers. For example, FUJIFILM Business Innovation has implemented the use of blast technology to remove yellowing from used exterior plastic covers, with the objective of maximising the potential of the components to be reused. This is in line with the company’s belief for resource circulation and taking climate action.

In May 2024, the company established a new target to further enhance their resource circulation efforts, aiming to reduce their natural resource input ratio to 60% or less by FY2030. To achieve this goal, FUJIFILM Business Innovation said it will continue to expand and enhance the reuse of multifunction printers, toner cartridges, spare parts, and more, and increasing the utilisation of recycled materials, including recycled plastic and steel.
