Epson launches new wide-format printer
March 4, 2016
The OEM’s SureColor SC-P10000 offers “accurate superior quality, large-format photos, POS items and signage” at “super-fast speeds”.
Epson unveiled the machine at the drupa 2016 event, with the printer a 44-inch wide-format production machine featuring a resolution of 600 x 600dpi “and higher” alongside an UltraChrome Pro 10-colour ink-set, including Photo and Matte Black inks as two of “four levels of black”. The device is aimed at “photo labs, high street photo and copy shops, print production houses and corporates”, and utilises the PrecisionCore MicroTFP printhead for “outstanding results”.
An LCD panel assists with “fuss-free printing”, while “changing and switching media is quick and effortless”, and the machine also includes an optional HDD, a “newly-developed camera-based paper feed stabiliser” and a media inductive roller system. The printhead can be cleaned by the user, as well as the ink cap, and the printer will be available from May 2016.
Marc Boehmer, Product Manager at Epson Europe, commented: “We’re really excited to unveil at drupa our new 44-inch model. It’s ideal for high volume copy shops that need to print at superfast speeds – without compromising on quality. Our customers’ needs continue to evolve and so it’s essential for us to expand our portfolio and technologies to fulfil their requirements.”
