ECS reaps the rewards as a real living wage employer

ECS is celebrating its one year anniversary as a real living wage employer by looking back at the changes that have occurred over the 12 month period.

Effective Consumable Solutions (ECS) announced that they have now been a real living wage employer for 12 months. The Remanufacturer and EOS Manufacturer of the Year have been in touch with The Recycler to share the good news, as well as to highlight a number of key areas where their business has benefitted from the change.

Initially, ECS committed to becoming a real living wage employer after the first year of the pandemic in order to provide their employees with fair pay for a fair days work, enabling staff to deal with rising living costs and to meet daily needs. As a result, ECS noticed a positive change in not only the happiness and wellbeing of their employees, but also a sharp shift in the culture of their business.

Director Felicity Rabbitte said: “Becoming a real living wage employer was one of the best decisions we’ve made as a business. Not only is it fantastic to know that our staff are well catered for and have better lives outside of work, but our team are also more motivated inside of work, leading to an upturn in production levels as well as the quality and care put into the process of creating our fantastic remanufactured toners.”

Ultimately, the UK remanufacturer explained that the commitment to being a real living wage employer was not only the right thing to do by their employees, but in hindsight was also a positive from a business perspective.

Rabbitte added: “Becoming a real living wage employer is a long-term investment into our members of staff based on our own principles, values and beliefs that a team with optimal working conditions and rewards will provide a better solution and service to our partners, which has definitely been the case. We also feel that this differentiates us further from others within the industry, making ECS an even more attractive choice as a distributor whose products are produced by employees who are motivated and rewarded.”
