The smuggling attempt failed after an x-ray inspection.
Customs officers at the Main Customs Office in Frankfurt have seized printer cartridges which were found to contain cocaine.
Officers were alerted to the drug during an x-ray inspection of the three cartridges, which were being sent from Uruguay to a private address in the Netherlands. The total volume of the cocaine was 280 grams, found in cartridges described as being from ‘a well-known manufacturer.’
Christine Straß, a spokesperson for the Customs Office, said that traffickers attempting to smuggle cocaine using printer cartridges was a regular occurrence. A further investigation is underway.
