Scott Bauer, franchisee in Sioux Falls, South Dakota is battling cancer.
KDLT reported on the “fish fry” benefit dinner and auction to “raise some money to support Scott and his family”, after Bauer was diagnosed with stage four cancer. Bauer, a “former police officer” and “popular sportsman” in the region, has seen friends step in “to help out”, with the auction organised by Vern Boer, a fisherman and host of Wild Dakota, which focuses on hunting.
Bauer, a keen huntsman, is said to “always be willing to give back to others”, and takes “kids out on hunting and fishing trips through the Outdoor Adventure Foundation”, with Boer adding that he’s “known Bauer for a very long time and is good friends with his family”. The dinner and auction saw a “a number of items up for live and silent auction”, while a “freewill donation” was taken at the door.
