The Chinese company said that its relocation “empowers collaboration-driven development” in the Beiijing-Tianjin-Hebei province in China.
CET announced that it will move its manufacturing operations to – and establish a fifth subsidiary in – the Caofeidian Industrial Zone, located in Tangshan City. The site, in the “Coordinative Development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province Demonstration Area”, is based in Tangshan Bay, while the fifth subsidiary will be called Yingmei Technolgoy Co., Ltd.
The company added that the location is “scheduled for completion by the end of 2017”, and commented that Yingmei will bring “jobs, for sure”. With 500 people currently working at CET’s Beijing headquarters, the new office will see 100 corporate roles created alongside 200 “tech-oriented” roles, including technicians and research and development engineers”.
CET noted that “many of the jobs will come from Beijing, but others will come from other locations or be new to the company”. On 22 April, the company welcomed Beijing Secretary and Mayor Wang Anshun to the site, where he “investigated the progress conditions” of the project “before affirming that they are both in good condition and all works are achieving positive progress”.
In turn, CET’s Vice General Manager Ivy Yu introduced Anshun to the company, along with a project report, with Anshun adding that “CET has a bright future, and we should grasp the opportunity” that the collaborative development of the region will bring. He also stated that the province should “strengthen its sense of mission and reinforce its confidence in practical work, thereby making significant contributions to creating a new economic growth point with maximum effort”.
