Supplies franchise partners with furniture chain in Cyprus to become part of the world’s largest environmental service campaign.
Printer supplies franchise Cartridge World recently partnered with Swedish furniture chain IKEA in Nicosia, Cyprus on 21 April to celebrate Earth Day. The two companies collaborated to become part of Earth Day Network’s Billion Acts of Green, the world’s largest environmental service campaign, which succeeded in reaching its target of one billion environmental actions in 2012.
IKEA is stated as hosting the event, with Cartridge World business customers being handed certificates detailing how many kilograms of carbon dioxide, landfill and money had been saved by recycling ink and toner cartridges throughout 2011.
There were also balloons, face painting and a colouring competition for the younger attendants. The winner of the competition will receive a fully refurbished computer and monitor from Cartridge World. The entries and various photos will be visible on the Cartridge World Facebook page.
Duncan Glover, Managing Director of Cartridge World, commented: “The public have been very receptive to the idea of recycling their ink and toner cartridges, especially following the recent government legislation, and the children have contributed some wonderful colourings.
“It was a pleasure to work with a company such as IKEA, who are leading supporters of corporate social responsibility around the world.”
