Canon South Africa launches new printer
December 6, 2016
The OEM has released a new MFP with a refillable ink tank.
The PIXMA G4400 is said to be “perfect” for SMBs or home office users, and is the newest in the line of its continuous ink supply system (CISS) machines, which are refillable ink tanks that can print high volumes and help save money on ink, said a press release. The printer has a page yield of 7,000 from one set of colour inks or 6,000 pages from the black ink bottle and creates high quality prints from both.
There is a 20-sheet document feeder that enables copying and scanning easily and at speed, and the printer uses the FINE technology printhead system that stops air penetrating the ink feeding tubes, ensuring “stability and reliability”. Graphic designs benefit from the “smooth gradations” from the print engine, and photos include 4×6 inch and 5×5 inch borderless prints. The ink tanks are front-facing, so that levels are clearly visible, and the Canon “bottle design makes it fast and clean” when refilling.
The LCD offers “guidance for set up, connection and conformation [that] ink has been filled correctly”, and the MFP is Wi-Fi enabled and supports Apple Airprint, Mopria for Android, Windows 10 mobile or the free Canon PRINT app, which is also compatible with iOS and Android. Scans can be sent direct to a connected device, and cloud printing can be done via the PRINT app, which can send documents and photos to print from anywhere and remotely print.
The PIXMA G4400 is also compatible with Canon’s Easy PhotoPrint, and is accessible from tablets or web browsers, and the printer comes with My Image Garden software for organisation of printing and photos. Creative Park can also be accessed for creativity and can be used on PCs and mobile devices.
