AllAfrica reports that Canon Middle East, based in Dubai, is looking to expand its customer base in Eastern Africa with the launch of its new subsidiary Canon Kenya.
The company aims to find new customers in Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, Rwanda, Tanzania and Burundi; and to “gather more indepth reach into Africa to better understand its changing market dynamics and customer demands”.
Canon is not the first OEM to target the region, with The Recycler reporting last year that Epson was to expand its presence in sub-saharan Africa by upgrading its base in Nairobi to become a regional office.
