Canon continues with take downs

Canon requested removal of toner cartridges offered by Dama Service Industry srl and xianshi yanliangqucanranbaihuoshanghang via Amazon and requested removal of drum units offered by N&J Inkjet Ltd from Amazon UK.

Canon announced that it filed Report Infringement Forms with Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.it and Amazon.es based on the alleged use of claims 1 and 2 of the UK, Italian and Spanish portions of Canon’s European Patent EP 1 977 289 (“EP ‘289”) regarding certain models of toner cartridges offered by Dama Service Industry srl under the following ASINs (Amazon Standard Identification Numbers).

Afterwards, Amazon took down the respective products.

These products are compatible with the OEM HP cartridge models and provide inter alia a non-OEM housing and a non-OEM force receiving device according to claim 1 of EP ‘289. Furthermore, they comprise an elastic portion according to claim 2 of EP ‘289.

Canon also announced that it filed Report Infringement Forms with Amazon.de, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.it and Amazon.es based on the alleged use of claims 1 and 2 of the German, UK, Italian and Spanish portions of Canon’s European Patent EP 1 977 289 (“EP ‘289”) regarding certain models of toner cartridges offered by xianshi yanliangqucanranbaihuoshanghang under the following ASINs (Amazon Standard Identification Numbers) (see Table 1).

Afterwards, Amazon took down the respective products.

These products are compatible with the OEM HP cartridge models and provide inter alia a non-OEM housing and a non-OEM force receiving device according to claim 1 of EP ‘289. Furthermore, they comprise an elastic portion according to claim 2 of EP ‘289.

And finally Canon requested removal of drum unit offered by N&J Inkjet Ltd from Amazon UK. The OEM filed a Report Infringement Form with Amazon UK based on the alleged use of claim 1 of the UK portion of Canon’s European Patent EP 2 087 407 regarding the drum unit model “CE505A” offered by N&J Inkjet Ltd under the ASINs (Amazon Standard Identification Numbers) B00MWV9S3K, B00MWV8UYI, and B00MWV7ZZ8.

Afterwards, Amazon took down the respective products.

These products are compatible with the drum unit of the OEM HP cartridge model CE505A and provides inter alia a non-OEM coupling member and a non-OEM drum.
