Along with a group of the company’s distribution partners – including Exertis, Exertis Supplies, JGBM, Midwich, Northamber, Vow, and UFP – Brother UK raised £22,909 (€26,803/$30,265). In total 500 people took part in sponsored events, which included “skydiving, kayaking down the River Thames, completing the Three Peaks Challenge and more” throughout July.
This was also part of Brother UK’s CSR (corporate social responsibility) programme, which has raised £33,775 (€39,516/$44,621) over the last year, and is called Brother’s Big Summer Challenge. Anne Hillion, Regional Legacy Manager at Cancer Research UK, stated: “The money raised by Brother and its partners is a great contribution towards helping increase the survival rate from cancer. The way in which the teams have raised the money shows how rewarding fundraising can be, with the business and its partners challenging themselves and overcoming their fears.”
Jeremy Bedford, Head of Major Accounts at Brother UK, commented: “Getting people out of their comfort zones was a major part of Brother’s Big Summer Challenge. Not only have the teams helped hit our quarterly sales targets, but they’ve successfully raised a significant amount for Cancer Research UK. The activities also mirrored the culture of teamwork both within our own business and our partners and given teams memorable experiences at the same time.”
