Pitch up and ask us anything
To kick off the conference is a Pitch up and ask us anything session is on Thursday 19th May where we focus on any office imaging topic. The concept is simple, really, participants will have the opportunity to pitch up and ask us (our panel) anything and get valuable feedback from our panel about anything about office imaging.

Speaker: Panel to be confirmed
13:20 – 14:00The Brussels Beat
Politics and legislation wise, everything that happens in Brussels usually doesn’t stay in Brussels, but actually reaches across all member states and beyond. Understanding what's current in the EU agenda and the challenges for the European market.

Speaker: Vincent van Dijk, Secretary General at ETIRA
14:00 – 14:40How can an EU funded project help to boost the circularity of the printing industry?
C-SERVEES (European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program) aims to boost a resource-efficient circular economy in the electrical and electronic sector through the development, testing, validation, and transfer of new circular economic business models. Lexmark, one of the four demonstrators, will share its first learnings how to improve remanufacturing and refurbishment of printers and printer cartridges.

Speaker: Maxime Furkel, Head of Government Affairs EMEA at Lexmark
14:40 – 15:10Afternoon coffee
15:10 – 15:50 Market Surveillance and you
In 2021 the EU introduced Market Surveillance across all member states to ensure that all products imported into the EU for sale in the EU will require a responsible economic player (e.g. an authorised representative) who is based in an EU member state. As well as compliance with all necessary regulations like RoHS, REACH, CLP, WEEE, etc.
Martinez will talk you through the Market Surveillance obligations and how the Spanish authorities have implemented a new and faster customs pre-clearance process.

Speaker: Javier Martinez, President at Etira
15:50 – 16:30Europe a turning point?
The big news is the recent decision by the European Union to reject the proposed Voluntary Agreement for imaging equipment in favour of introducing legislation to strengthen the EU focus on the circularity aspects of ecodesign.
The Commission has assessed the revised VA and concluded that accepting this revised VA would not achieve the objectives considered in the Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP), and cannot be considered compliant with the guidelines, regarding the possible re-use of consumables.
We explore the background to the VA and what a future regulation might look like and the possible time frames for a regulation to be introduced. At the same time we will explore some of the horizontal legislation that will impact across the market.

10:00 – 10:40Document Trends in the New Normal
Hybrid working is the new norm for many knowledge workers. That brings challenges for technology providers and requires they diversify their offering to keep up with market needs whilst battling ongoing supply chain and logistics issues. The end user is in the process of reevaluating real-estate, office space purpose and workers expectations. Let’s look at some of the OEM activity to address the new normal.

Speaker: Deborah Hawkins, Director of Office Group at Keypoint Intelligence

11:10 – 11:50In the year 2022
What a roller coaster ride the last two years have been for the imaging market. There are definitely winners and losers as the market changed. We look at the trends and issues in the market today. Supply chain delays, the renaissance for reuse, consumables market trends – or winners and losers. The emergence of “near sourcing” opportunities and what the near-term future might look like.

Speaker: David Connett, Partner at Connett & Unland GbR
11:50 – 12:30Are you going to Band-Aid your business into the 2030’s or take the cure?
If you do things the same way you’ve always done them, you’ll get the same outcomes you’ve always gotten. In order to change your outcomes, you’ve got to do things differently. Let's explore how we can positively change our outcomes.

Speaker: Jan de Kesel, Managing Director at ISN-Partners
12:30 – 13:20Reman – A Brand for Europe?
40 years of reuse (recycling and remanufacturing) expertise and 40 years of bumping heads with the OEM community. As a “brand” the reuse community sells more consumables that most OEMs. Is it time to formalise “our brand” and promote reuse to build a better market share? The ETIRA label programme could be the first steps in building “our brand”.

David Connett will talk you through the concept and Vincent van Dijk will talk you through how the label programme works
