Media Guide

The Recycler Trade Magazine, The Recycler en Español and Remax Trade Shows provide the perfect opportunity to increase your company’s exposure to the industry. Through this exposure, you can inform your target customers about new products or services as well as obtain editorial coverage for your company.

Magazines have a limited amount of editorial space. Publication of your company’s news is not guaranteed. Make sure your news release is newsworthy, concise and relevant to the editors/writers you are trying to reach.

Top tips for writing an effective press release

  • Make sure the information is newsworthy.
  • Deal with the facts.
  • Ask yourself, “How are people going to relate to this and will they be able to connect?”
  • Make sure the first 10 words of your release are effective, as they are the most important.
  • Start with a brief description of the news, and then distinguish who announced it, and not the other way around.
  • Avoid excessive use of adjectives, jargon and fancy language.
  • A photo is worth a 1000 words so always include a relevant picture of either the people or products concerned. The best pictures always include people!
  • Please send photos in the highest resolution possible, ideally 300 dpi and above.
  • Provide as much contact information as possible: Individual to contact, address, phone, fax, email and website address.
  • Please include international dialling codes with phone numbers.
    Make sure you wait until you have something with enough substance to issue a release.
  • Make it as easy as possible for media representatives to do their jobs.
