January 26, 2012

The OEM reported a small two percent increase in revenue in 2011, whilst Fuji Xerox China has been awarded for its environmental initiatives.

Xerox’s Q4 results, revealed yesterday, show a flat total revenue in 2011, with a small two percent increase across the whole year. The OEM also reported that its operating cash flow was $1.3 billion (€990.4 million) in Q4, with a total of $2 billion (€1.52 billion) for 2011, and noted that earnings per share had increased by 14 percent in a year to 33 cents.

Revenue from the company’s services division increased by six percent, but revenue from the technology business fell five percent, with the company noting its performance “was significantly impacted by economic weakness in Europe”.

Ursula Burns, Xerox CEO and Chairman, stated: “Our performance reflects Xerox’s operational discipline in delivering strong bottom-line results while scaling our services business and maintaining our leadership in document technology.

“While operating in a challenging economic environment, we’ve grown our global market share for equipment revenue, further strengthening our industry leadership. Installs of Xerox equipment increased 8 percent in the fourth quarter. And, our managed print services are proving not only to be the industry standard but also an engine of growth for our business.

In related news, Fuji Xerox China received the ‘Outstanding Contribution Company to China IT Industry Green Development Award’ from IT publication China Information World.

The award, established in 2011, awarded Fuji Xerox China for its energy-saving products (which achieved low-carbon certification from the Chinese government), and most notably its recycling system for used cartridges at its site in Suzho City. The company’s slogan and initiative ‘PRINT GREEN’ was also awarded for its use on products throughout 2010 and 2011.

The company also won the China CSR Award 2011, which awards companies for environmental work and educational support. The OEM stated: “Fuji Xerox affiliates in China have been building primary schools in a mountainous region since 2007, to support the improvement of educational environments in the rural area.

“Since then, the company has been supporting the school through the donation of office equipments and stationery goods. Furthermore, other activities, including setting up scholarships for universities and the creation of large-font textbooks for visually impaired children and students using Fuji Xerox’s copiers were commended.”
