Ricoh announces stable operations at Thai plant
January 25, 2012
Production returns to “pre-flood levels” following closure on 17 October.
Printer manufacturer Ricoh
has announced a return to stable operations in their two production bases in Thailand following three months of partial closure.
Although the facilities, situated away from the main flood area, managed to avoid direct damage to equipment and employees, Ricoh Manufacturing (Thailand) Ltd. suspended production in a number of laser printer lines due to difficulty in sourcing parts.
Ricoh cites that “the close collaboration with supplies for parts procurement” has enabled production to return to “pre-flood levels”.
The OEM stated its intention to increase total production volume in order to make up the shortfall and ensure a stable product supply.
