Remanexpo 2012: Day Three
January 30, 2012
Seminars from Delacamp’s Volker Kappius, MSE’s Luke Goldberg and others well received in the penultimate day of the exhibition
Last night Messe
Frankfurt had a “Back to the ’70s” party. But The Recycler won’t dwell on that.
The third day of Remanexpo Frankfurt 2012 continued in established form: with many exhibitors fielding meetings and a steady flow of visitors from all around the globe. First-time exhibitors Tonerman Ltd. expressed satisfaction with proceedings, with Managing Director Michael Goodman commenting: “It was brilliant, we’ve met
a lot of interesting people and our new app has been very popular. We are also going to be opening in France in March as a direct result of a deal from Remanexpo so we’rereally happy.”
Frank Zhao, Sales Manager, Orink also remarked on the benefits of attendance: “It’s useful for us so we can know more about the changes in the industry and technological improvements, and check the European economy and so we can exchange ideas.”
Speaking on Canon’s recent court suit against Orink, Clover and a number of aftermarket companies, Zhao stated: “Orink has always had this kind of threat. But it is the same with high technology like Samsung and Apple, who have to face these kinds of things too. We are still optimistic about the future.”
The day was also host to the
most seminars of the exhibition, with six speakers delivering seminars and talks about areas of the industry. Aldo de Smedt, Global Marketing and Sales Manager, GfK Europe, opened the day with a discussion on consumables in the European market and tackled subjects including status OEM brands versus the “non-genuine” and the relationship with the Printing Devices sector in the EMEA market.
Andy Carroll,
Senior Consultant, InfoTrends, delivered a seminar entitled “Europe Today: Market for toner and inkjet cartridges”, discussing OEM and aftermarket trends, the potential impact of MPS on the supplies market, and revenue forecasts.
Despite technical issues, Volker Kappius, COO, Delacamp AG, and Luke Goldberg, SVP, MSE, delivered highly popular discussions on advances in aftermarket colour printing performance and the opportunities and threats to the aftermarket,
respectively, with others following.
The Recycler would like to thank them and all seminar speakers throughout the exhibition.
The day also delivered a number of evening events, including the launching cocktail event for UTec’s Jumpr 75 compatible HP laser cartridge, with the company claiming the cartridge allows 75 percent more prints than OEM brand, and almost no toner waste. UTec General Manager Iris Ngo held a presentation and Q&A session to deliver the specifications of the cartridge, set to be released by the end of February.
