Epson move toward managed print services

for Business Imaging, Epson, has noted to a number of media outlets that the printer manufacturer is seeking to expand its printer products, services and partner programmes with a focus on the managed print services (MPS) market, reports Channelnomics.
Nguyen stated that Epson’s focus for its MPS programme would include remote management, including remotely monitoring ink cartridge levels and technical support for Epson printers.
Channelnomics states that Epson and others are seeking to position itself to take advantage of the financial growth of the market, with the IDC predicting the market will “hit $29.4 billion (€22.2 billion) in the United States by 2014, up from $23.4 billion (€17.7 billion) in 2009, and $42 billion (€31.8 billion globally, up from $31.7 billion (€24 billion) in 2009”.
Several OEMs have recently announced their burgeoning commitment to MPS, including Konica Minolta, HP, Xerox and OKI.
