Canon uses music video to promote Pixma printer

Canon has worked with musician Herbie Hancock to create a music video marketing the OEM’s Pixma Pro-1 inkjet printer.
The video is crowd-sourced, with images taken from the crowd at a Hancock performance of his track “Chameleon” in October at Canon’s “Legends in Imaging” event, where the Pixma Pro-1 was released.
The video uses 1,800 images from spectators’ cameras, which were then printed on Pixma printers before being synchronised with audio from the performance. Canon gave out cameras to 25 amateur photographers, who then took the pictures at the performance.
The video was revealed and presented at CES 2012 last week, and was made available to view on Hancock’s website, the OEM’s Facebook page and YouTube.
