Ink World has announced a same store sales increase of over 17% in 2008, compared to sales during 2007 within the thirteen store network. Ink World is an inkjet cartridge refiller, retailer and supplier of office supplies. Sales in 2009 look likely to continue 2008’s performance, with seven Ink World stores recording their best ever months for sales in January 2009.
Mark Reid, Managing Director of Ink World, commented “With the recession starting during 2008 in the UK & Ireland and continuing into 2009, it has become apparent from our success that both businesses and consumers are looking for cheaper alternatives to buying brand new manufacturer cartridges. Our refilling service and range of remanufactured and compatible cartridges not only offer a quality alternative but can also save our customers up to 80% on the price of a new cartridge”. Ink World’s service is environmentally friendly too, reducing landfill by recycling cartridges rather than using a cartridge once then throwing it in the bin.
Operating predominantly as a franchise with thirteen stores in the UK & Ireland and a combined turnover of over £1 million, Ink World has continued to grow with a new franchise store opening in Glengormley, near Belfast in Northern Ireland at the end of January 2009 and more new stores planned in 2009.
