Micro Solutions Enterprises has launched a new secondary cleaning solution (SCS) that “keeps the PCR and OPC completely free from toner build-up throughout the cartridge life”.
The company says the new technology, launched at World Expo, results in a cartridge that “for the first time stands head to head with the OEM”.
According to MSE, the colour aftermarket has struggled with colour cartridge quality, “as evidenced by the paltry market share we have against the OEM”. Adding, issues ranging from leaking, streaking and back grounding have plagued the industry.
The firm said: “Most experts estimate that share to be at less than 10 percent. The number one reason for this is that collectively the industry has not convinced quality conscious OEM colour consumers that there is a good alternative out there.”
MSE is currently deploying its SCS technology in the 4600/4700/4730/4005 models and will release the 5500 and 3525 by next month.
Global SVP Luke Goldberg said: “What our technical team has done here is truly groundbreaking and is the very definition of “intelligent re-engineering”.
“We have added a brand new critical component to the existing OEM cartridge. This component not only addresses and practically eliminates many of the historical issues, such as streaking, leaking and dirty print, but it actually runs cleaner than an OEM at the end of life.”
