Franchisor Cartridge World has appointed Marcel Portmann as its new Director of Operations for Latin America.
Portmann, the former Vice President of International Development for the International Franchise Association, will manage the regional office for Cartridge World in Americas in Chile.
He will also assist in the operations and development of existing Cartridge World franchisees and its more than 35 stores throughout Argentine, Chile, Dominican Republic, Guadalupe, Guatemala, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, Mexico, St. Marteen and Uruguay.
Portmann has over 10 year’s experience in the franchising industry, including expertise in operations, marketing, brokerage and consulting.
Cartridge World CEO Tom Fricke said: “We are pleased to welcome Marcel to the Cartridge World family and are confident he will be instrumental in defining and executing our growth strategy for the Latin American region. Working closely with our senior leadership team, he will help us build on the success of our existing platform in the region and develop deeper relationships with our clients and markets.”
According to Portmann, the Latin American market offers attractive demographics for Cartridge World, with more consumers and business owners opting for ways to save money on ink costs by refilling cartridges, instead of always buying new. He believes that Brazil, Colombia and Panama are the most desired countries in terms of unit franchise sales.
He said: “Cartridge World is the perfect opportunity to work with a proven franchisor and enhance a franchise network that is poised for aggressive growth in the region.”
